OpenAI Bildmodell
OpenAI's image model creates and edits images from text descriptions, including work on existing source images. It is not a tool for file work but for your own external presentation: illustrations for client information, diagrams, graphics for talks. Procured via Azure the contractual chain is closed, because the confidentiality line signed there covers the models sold by Azure and therefore this one too. What has to be borne in mind is the delivered state: abuse monitoring is active, and with image models the storage of flagged content also covers uploaded source images.
Everything section 203 requires is settled, including the provider's confidentiality undertaking. You do not have to clarify anything further.
What it is good for
- Image generation and editing from text descriptions, including changes to existing source images
- Evidenced in the EU, under the same contractual line as the other models sold by Azure
- Usable for the firm's external presentation without switching route
Where it stops
- None of the seven task classes in this catalogue - the entry documents the coverage position, it is not a recommendation for use
- Evidenced in the EU only via Poland or Sweden (as of 2026-08-17)
- Uploaded source images are subject to the same abuse monitoring as text: images from client matters belong in only with the same assessment
Routes examined
The same model, procured differently, is a different legal position. What is examined per route is the contract chain, not the model.
| Route | Section 203 status | Version on this route |

The conditions behind a conditional status - which piece is open on which route and who closes it - are set out in the full matrix in the German catalogue, and we go through them in the conversation. The German page for OpenAI Bildmodell carries the sources with their retrieval dates.
