An open-weights model that shows its reasoning steps: it works tasks through step by step instead of just stating a result - helpful for deadline chains and multi-stage checks whose derivation should remain traceable; it costs noticeably more time per answer. For professional secrets two of our routes carry: the open models we host ourselves in Germany, with a signed confidentiality agreement under section 203 of the German Criminal Code, plus Azure, where the model is sold by the platform itself and operated on reserved capacity in EU regions. The Open Telekom Cloud also offers the model, under its own standard agreement with its customers. Buying directly from the vendor, by contrast, is ruled out: it takes personal data to China, without an adequacy decision and without enforceable data subject rights.
Everything section 203 requires is settled, including the provider's confidentiality undertaking, and nothing is stored at the provider, apart from a technical cache of a few minutes for Claude (zero retention). You do not have to clarify anything further.
The operator bills separately - input EUR 0.20 · output EUR 0.50 · cache hits EUR 0.10. The figure above is the blend of the two, weighted three quarters input to one quarter output, as it arises in a firm. Charged at the vendor's list price, without a mark-up.

- On the Telekom route the commitment only carries as long as the model is operated on the T-Cloud in Germany itself; for the lines of other vendors passed through in the same catalogue, the conditions of that third party apply, whose subcontractors may operate worldwide (research date 2026-08-17)
