A very large open model with a focus on code and long, multi-step tasks. It is strong where something has to be computed out of your own corpus: recurring evaluations, structured extraction from large volumes, operations across many intermediate steps. It hits German legal register less surely than the European models. Under professional-secrecy law exactly one route carries, but that one completely: at the EU operator of open models, the German operator, the addendum under section 203 of the German Criminal Code is signed - confidentiality undertaking in text form with instruction on criminal liability, chain obligation onto the subcontractors, inference in Europe. No data flows to the vendor outside the EU in the process.
In the catalogue because you need to know this as well.
The operator bills separately - input EUR 0.86 · output EUR 3.00 · cache hits EUR 0.18. The figure above is the blend of the two, weighted three quarters input to one quarter output, as it arises in a firm. Passed through at purchase price, without a mark-up.
What it is good for
- Very large open model class for multi-step tasks and evaluation code
- Runs through the Gosign chain in European data centres, with no data flow to the vendor
Where it stops
- Hits German legal register less surely than the European models
- The vendor is based outside the EU; what counts for the contractual chain is the operator running it in Europe, not the origin of the weights
Routes examined
The same model, procured differently, is a different legal position. What is examined per route is the contract chain, not the model.
| Route | Section 203 status | Version on this route |

The conditions behind a conditional status - which piece is open on which route and who closes it - are set out in the full matrix in the German catalogue, and we go through them in the conversation. The German page for Kimi carries the sources with their retrieval dates.
