Offboarding is the mirror of onboarding - and often receives far less attention. When an employee leaves, a structured process is needed: final pay calculation, benefits termination, equipment return, system access revocation, knowledge transfer coordination, exit interview, certificate of employment generation, and regulatory notifications. The Offboarding Agent orchestrates these tasks from the moment a termination or resignation is confirmed. It generates the task list based on the leaving employee's profile (role, location, contract type, reason for leaving), assigns tasks to the responsible parties, tracks completion against the last working day, and ensures nothing is missed. Access revocation deserves special attention: delayed system access removal is a security risk. The agent ensures IT receives the access revocation task with sufficient lead time and tracks completion.
